Coach Natalie Sheldon is the head coach of the Oasis High School Cross Country Team. She is also an Oasis Middle School educator, and former law enforcement officer who brings a unique blend of discipline, mentorship, and passion to every program she leads. With a diverse coaching background spanning powerlifting for at-risk youth, police explorers, USA Gymnastics, youth soccer, and now high school cross country, she is committed to developing well-rounded athletes.
Coach Sheldon has guided Oasis athletes to consistently achieve personal best performances while leading them to many team recognitions from small scale meets to top 5 placement in the state finals. Coach Sheldon’s approach emphasizes that success is not defined by perfection, but by a relentless pursuit of excellence—an expectation she instills in every athlete. Coach Sheldon believes that while talent eventually graduates, culture endures. She is intentional about building a team environment rooted in accountability, resilience, and a team-first mindset.
Her training philosophy centers on helping each athlete reach their full potential while understanding that individual success is strongest when it contributes to the collective strength of the team. Through her leadership, athletes are not only prepared to compete at a high level, but also equipped with the character, discipline, and mindset to succeed far beyond their high school years.
Coach Sykes is a former Oasis athlete and is very enthusiastic about becoming an excellent coach and really enjoys getting kids to exceed their expectations on the course. He also coaches the Track & Field Team

Assistant Coach Andrew Salyer is an is a long time runner and previously was the head coach at Oasis bringing her passion for running and working with children to our team.
